Day one began in Houston and ended up in Las Vegas, NM some 840 miles later.
Somehow awake and smiling at 6:30 on Saturday morning
Nothing but straight road, trains, and a whole lot of sky for hours.
I'm so excited!
New Mexico at last!
We took a detour along part of historic Route 66 for about 30 miles.
Lots of cool abandoned motels in this town.
It's a hat! On a building!
See, we were really there!
They must have known I was coming.
We stopped for dinner, and were the only customers in the restaurant at first.
A beautiful evening about 20 miles from Las Vegas, NM.
